Ashleigh Peters

Ashleigh Peters, our Optometrist at Woonona Eyecare who is passionate about eyecare and believes in treating every patient as if they are family. Ashleigh is a behavioural optometrist who is a member of the Australasian college of behavioural optometrists (ACBO). Ashleigh enjoys working with children and is also a mum with a one and a half year old son.

Ashleigh completed a Bachelor of Optometry and Vision Science with honours at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), and is therapeutically endorsed, meaning she can prescribe eyedrops such as antibiotic drops to treat eye disease. Since graduating, Ashleigh has worked at multiple stores across Australia, providing rural eyecare and treating eye diseases. Ashleigh also has a special interest in dry eye, offering patients specific advice based on the latest dry eye research, and offering in-office dry eye treatments such as Blephasteam.

Ashleigh is also interested in prescribing multifocal contact lenses, and in the latest research in slowing short sighted progression (myopia). Ashleigh lives locally in Wollongong, and her husband services the local community as a carpenter. Ashleigh enjoys her leisure time going for hikes, spending quality time with her family, and yoga.
